A   Start at the car park by Haxey School. This car park is very busy on term time weekdays for half an hour around 9.00am and around 3.15pm for the start and end of school, otherwise it is quiet.

B  Walk just past the school to take the entrance to the old railway line opposite the school, the Greenway. Walk north along this tree lined track with views over the fields for a little over 2 Km. About half way along you will walk down and then up a dip where a bridge has been removed.

C  Turn right on a track taking you to Low Burnham.

D  At Low Burnham you emerge onto the busy A161 where you cross, and take the road almost immediately opposite. Walking up the slight slope about 100m take the right hand fork in the road.

E  As you walk further up the slope you pass the old grindstone and pinfold on the left shortly taking a narrow path on the left between two houses. Waling about 600m up the slope across the field take the right turn at the T junction to the track which is The Peatlands way. Climbing towards High Burnham you can see mobile phone masts at the top of the low hill.

F  At the junction between the path and narrow tarmac road turn left for about 150m

G  Take the first signposted path on the right, down the slope towards East Lound. Passing some trees you reach a small timber bridge in a gap in the hedge turning left and the right again, down the slope.

H  As you approach the back of the houses at the T junction with a broad grass track turn right and follow this track for about 1Km along the edge of fields, passing a small wood on the left on a gentle rise finally turning down the slope to the A16.

J  Cross the road to the tarmac bridleway opposite. 300m further on the main path crosses a bridge over the old rail line. Just before the bridge on the right go down some steep steps to the old line, then turning right. Walking 250m you climb the slope by the school emerging on The Nooking with your car park on the right.
